Description
The YZF-R1 is Yamaha’s flagship super-sporty motorcycle which has a few upgrades from 2018 to make it more competitive. The Bike uses Yamaha’s Deltabox frame which houses the 998cc plane four-cylinder motor that produces a whopping 197bhp at 13,500 rpm and 112.4 Nm of max torque at 11,500 rpm, all wrapped in aerodynamics MotoGP- style bodywork. The unit is mated to a six-speed transmission and breathes through a titanium exhaust system. Yamaha YZF-R1 gets an aluminum tank and magnesium wheels as weight saving measures and weighs 5 kg lesser than the outgoing model at 199 kg.
This Bike has got 6 feet gearbox and 17L of fuel tank. The front telescopic suspension is KYB upside-down 43 mm forks, fully adjustable, 120mm travel. And, the rear suspension is KYB monoshock, fully adjustable, 120mm travel. The front brake contains 320 discs with radial-mount four-piston calipers. Whereas, Rear brake contains 220 mm discs with twin-piston caliper.
It also gets technological upgrades like the revised Quick Shift System that allows clutch-less downshifting and an updated Lift Control System. The Quick shift system contains automatically updated matching engine on downshifts for rapid clutchless shifts in either direction.
Apart from these, the bike’s electronic package includes Slide control, Launch control, anti-wheelie control, braking sensitive traction control and Yamaha’s unified braking system.
In summary, Yamaha YZF-R1 is the strong beast that runs with the thrilling passion like Formula’s race. I would like to warn against such a ride, cuz more than 50% of these bikes smash on the first day of purchase.
Please, ride safely !!!
