Description
The Benelli TRK 502 with Trellis frame, gets a tall and imposing stance. As far as size is concerned, it is almost comparable to bigger ADVs such as the Triumph Tiger 800 and Ducati Multistrada 950.
The Benelli TRK 502 is powered by a 500cc parallel-twin engine which is a liquid-cooled and pumps out 47 bhp at 8,500 rpm and churns out max torque of 46 Nm at 6,000 rpm while being paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The engine is quite refined and there is no hint of vibrations even while revving hard. The motor is torque and there is enough grunts to pull this bike from 50 kmph in the 5th gear to over 110kmph.
The front end gets 50 mm upside down forks , ‘transformers’ like headlamps with LED daytime running lamps and a typical ADV beak protruding out, giving it a muscular stance. At the rear is a bolt-on carrier, monoshock to mount either a top box or luggage, completing the overall beefy, brutish ADV’s look.
The TRK 502 doesn’t have a long list of features like others; it does get a part digital, part analogue instrument console. The analogue part is the rev counter while the digital display shows speed, fuel, trip meters, odometer, and gear indicator along with engine temperature. It also offers a conveniently placed USB charger as standard, which is placed on the left side of the fuel tank, right below the switch gear. The footpegs are serrated and the rubber can be removed if needed, offering better grip on off-road. The road- biased TRK 502 have alloy wheels, road-spec tires and the suspension travel will be a little less. The rider seat height is 800 mm with 190 mm of ground clearance.
At 235 kg, the bike is portly and it is something which does negate the handling abilities of the bike. With the 20-litre fuel tank, you can cover quite a distance between tankfuls.
